Written on my Skin

You are written on my skin

Your fingers as a pen

Allow the flow of your ink to me

You may not feel love

But it moves right through

Each touch an indelible imprint of you

Yet the skin alone can’t hold the tattoo

Like water finds a level you run

To permeate tissue and saturate bone

The longer you write the more I absorb

Till so rooted are you that others must see

I have lost the me from before.
